Mcgill's Offer All Greenock Ee Staff A Guaranteed Interview

McGill’s Buses has today made an offer to all EE staff in Greenock guaranteeing them an interview for its current vacancies in Inverclyde and Renfrewshire.

Bosses at EE today announced plans to close the Greenock contact centre, moving 450 jobs to Glasgow.

McGill’s - which is owned by leading Scottish businessmen Sandy and James Easdale — was named Public Transport Operator of the Year in 2022, with its head office located in Greenock.

The firm made a similar offer following the closure of Gourock's Amazon fulfilment plant last year.

Alex Hornby, managing director at McGill’s Group, said: “The closure of EE Greenock is a significant blow to the Inverclyde community, impacting not just employees but also the entire local economy.

“Whilst many will choose to retain their positions by travelling or relocating to Glasgow, McGill’s Group is keen to provide options for those seeking new opportunities.

“We have a range of roles available across our three depots at Greenock, Inchinnan, and Johnstone which may be of interest to those whose skills could be easily transferable.

“In particular, McGill’s can offer guaranteed interviews for our bus driver positions. No previous bus driving experience is necessary as successful applicants will be provided with full training by our in-house McGill’s Training Academy.
